Janet Kenny left New Zealand to pursue a career as an operatic and concert singer in London, then settled in Sydney, Australia, where she worked in the anti-nuclear movement and jointly wrote and edited a book about the nuclear industry, Beyond Chernobyl. She has published non-fiction essays and translations, edited various online poetry journals and published poems in numerous journals including The Hypertexts, The Chimaera, Mi Poesias, The New Formalist, Avatar, The Susquehanna Quarterly, The Raintown Review, Iambs & Trochees, Umbrella, and The Shit Creek Review. She has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and is included in the international anthology The Book of Hope. She shared an anthology of bird poems, Passing Through, with the poet Jerry H. Jenkins and has poems in an anthology, Inside Out, published by Tombolo Publishing. Janet lived for many years in Sydney with her husband and visiting currawongs. She now lives in Hervey Bay, Queensland with the same husband, visiting butcher birds, spangled drongos, ospreys, pelicans, assorted honeyeaters and flying foxes.
